Role in the project

UFREI has extensive experience in the identification and application of cofactor-dependent enzymes. Biosynthetic studies of secondary metabolites from bacteria and fungi are used as a starting point for the recognition of uncommon enzymatic steps and their coding genes.

Partner UFREI will undertake the improvement of enzymatic umpolung reactions and the preparative scale synthesis of some of the products.
